Coated Wine Glass

Do not clink your glass

The Coated Wine Glass applies a material change to the bowl and rim of a ready-made object, reducing the inclination to clink the glass before drinking its contents. The rubber skin that covers the glass both protects the fragility of the glass and prevents a high-pitched noise when clinked, instead producing a deep tintinnabulation or bell-like sound. Furthermore, the remaining adhesiveness of the applied liquid latex allows for glasses to stick together when clinked and drives the consumer to slow down and appreciate the moment as the glasses are pulled apart.
